Amy is a corporate transactional attorney and a partner at Seattle law firm Carney Badley Spellman P.S. She advises startups and emerging tech companies on building and implementing effective privacy programs from the ground up, incorporating privacy by design into every stage of a tech startup’s lifecycle. In addition to her privacy work, she regularly assists US and international clients with drafting and negotiating complex commercial and intellectual property licensing agreements at all levels of the supply chain including with vendors and suppliers, strategic partners and enterprise customers, and consumers and end users.

 

Amy is a certified information privacy professional (CIPP/US). She leads her firm’s Privacy Group and maintains the Carney Badley Spellman Privacy Group blog.



Prior to joining Carney, Amy practiced at Choate Hall & Stewart in Boston and at boutique Boston-based law firm Company Counsel. Amy received her J.D. from the Boston University School of Law. She also holds a Master of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Kalamazoo College in Michigan.
