About the IAPP

Smriti Chandrashekar is a Senior Associate with Hintze Law. Smriti advises clients on a wide range of privacy and data security issues, including conducting and setting up Records of Processing Activities and Data Protection Impact Assessments and conducting Privacy by Design assessments. Smriti has experience with the California Consumer Protection Act (CCPA), EU GDPR, the FTC Act, the video privacy protection act, facial recognition, biometrics, regulatory data security compliance, development of internal privacy and data security practices, and data breach notice obligations. Smriti has significant in-house experience having seconded with Netflix and a leading cloud-based hosting company for software developers.

Prior to Hintze Law, Smriti worked at the World Bank Group in Washington, D.C. on e-governance issues. Smriti later worked as a Research Associate at the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER), an economic policy think tank in New Delhi, researching on issues of digitization, tech policy and Internet regulation.
