Richard Montbeyre, CIPP/E, CIPM
Based in France, Richard has worked in various environments and took Privacy responsibilities in both private and public sectors.
He spent 5 years at MetLife, a global provider of insurance, as EMEA Privacy Officer, deploying Global Privacy Strategies to the EMEA Region with a strong focus on Privacy Risk Management and Compliance.
Former Head of Investigations at the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL), he led a team of 20 lawyers and IT investigators in charge of on-site/off-site inspections and coordinated multiple enforcement actions against private and public organizations.
He is currently responsible for the Privacy Program of BMC Software, Inc., as Group DPO. This includes monitoring compliance with BMC’s Binding Corporate Rules (BCR). BMC Software is a technology company producing software and services that assist businesses in moving to digital operations.
Richard holds two Masters in Law from La Sorbonne and Panthéon-Assas Universities (Paris), was admitted to the Paris Bar in 2008 and is CIPP/E and CIPM certified.
