About the IAPP

TRINA DIONELA SINGSON is a Special Counsel for Data Privacy of Follosco Morallos & Herce Law (FMH Law), a full-service firm in the Philippines and a corporate member of the IAPP whose data privacy team has several IAPP-certified lawyers in its roster. Ms. Singson has been in the forefront of the data privacy practice of FMH Law since 2017, having been one of the first batch of lawyers to have gotten IAPP-certified (for CIPM, and subsequently, CIPP/E) in the Philippines. Ms. Singson and the FMH data privacy team have been involved in several end-to- end data privacy compliance consulting work for service companies in diverse industries—financial services, hotels, educational institutions, recruitment and placement, market research, service companies among others—many of which are multinational corporations. She served as a Co-chair of the IAPP Knowledge Net Philippine Chapter from 2019 to 2021.

Before embarking in data privacy practice, she had extensive experience in judicial research having worked with the Court of Appeals as a Court Attorney for 15 years. She has wide exposure in government service having worked with the National Amnesty Commission and the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process.

She holds two master’s Degrees - MA in International and Business Law from the Yokohama National University, Japan in 2011 and MA in Industrial Relations, 2003 from the University of the Philippines. She received her Bachelor of Laws degree in 1997 and Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1992, both from the University of the Philippines.
