About the IAPP

 

Stephan Geering is Blackboard's Global Privacy Officer and Associate General Counsel. Stephan joined Blackboard in May 2017 and is responsible for overseeing compliance with data privacy and security laws and regulations. He previously worked as Citigroup's EMEA Chief Privacy Officer and also oversaw privacy compliance in APAC.  Prior to joining Citi in 2012, Stephan worked in Barclays Group Privacy team for two years. He is a Swiss qualified lawyer and was Deputy Data Protection Commissioner of one of the Swiss regional data protection authorities before moving to the UK.
