Asia Pacific Chief Privacy Officer, Regulatory Legal Counsel

Nina Yiannopoulos is the Chief Privacy Officer for Deloitte Asia Pacific and an in-house counsel responsible for advising on a range for regulatory matters, including privacy. Prior to taking on her current role, Nina was the Director of Privacy for Deloitte Australia and established the firm’s existing privacy management framework. Nina has worked in privacy for over 10 years, having started her career at the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner with a focus on privacy issues arising in the context of national security, biometrics, and credit reporting. Nina has a Masters of Innovation Law from the University of New South Wales and a Bachelor of Laws and Economics from the University of Western Australia.



Upon moving to Perth in 2017 Nina established the Perth Chapter and took on the role of Chapter Chair. When asked to describe what privacy means to her, Nina said: “Privacy is often thought of as a roadblock to innovation, but to me, privacy is all about transparency and ensuring that we always act in accordance with individual and community expectations around the handling of personal data.”
