Kelly Henney
Kelly Henney is a Partner and National Head of Privacy and Data Protection at KPMG. Kelly is a legal practitioner with over 20 years’ experience across insurance, telecommunications, manufacturing, retail, bank and investment funds, large boutique financial institutions, federal and state government agencies, childcare and gaming and liquor.
Kelly brings a wealth of experience managing data privacy risk in complex and sensitive transactions, data breach response, and complex regulatory investigations throughout Asia Pacific. Kelly has also led multiple high-profile litigations and Regulatory Taskforces and advised on proceedings before the High Court of Australia. Kelly’s consulting firm assists clients with compliance issues, privacy law reforms, global expansion, breach management including incident management and data breach investigation, internal audits, gap analysis, regulatory management, records management, third party assessments, and privacy training.
Kelly has also been awarded with an Australia Day medal for her work. She is also on the Board for LexisNexis and has published several articles. Kelly has a strong reputation and is widely known as the “go-to” person on privacy and data protection related matters and is often asked to speak publicly. For instance Kelly has presented to the Attorney General’s Department on privacy culture and has presented in various forums such as but not limited to AISA Australian Cyber Conference.
