About the IAPP

Özer is specialized in privacy, data protection, data technologies and (cyber) security. He has extensive experience in providing strategic advice in complex, high risk, and cross-border data related matters. This includes responding to high-impact data breaches, litigation and investigations by authorities following data breaches, the development and implementation of innovative data technologies, and complex data sharing structures. Özer has extensive experience in advising organizations on other data protection related matters, such as new marketing initiatives, negotiating data protection related agreements, and international data transfers. He is published regularly on privacy related issues and is, together with Elisabeth Thole, one of the writers of the open letter (sent also on behalf the Dutch Association of Privacy Lawyers; Vereniging Privacyrecht Advocaten) to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, which resulted in improvements of the authority’s online data breach notification form. Özer is also a member of Dutch Association of Privacy Lawyers.
