About the IAPP

Furkan Güven Taştan graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Law. He completed his master's with the thesis titled "Protection of Personal Data in Turkish Contract Law." He received his second master's degree from Tilburg University's Law & Technology program as a Jean Monnet Scholarship holder with the thesis titled "The (im)possibility of personal data as an object of contracts: An analysis of the GDPR and the Digital Content Directive." He was awarded a Ph.D. for a thesis on the conformity of digital content and services in EU, German and Turkish law. Currently, he is an academic staff member of Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Faculty of Law. His major areas of studies include civil law and information technology law.
