David Pitts, CIPP/G
There is a crossroads where American corporations and federal and state governments meet with the practices of privacy, risk management, business strategy, operations, technology, compliance, and security. At this crossroads, Mr. David Pitts spends his time and energy.
In addition to having published nine books, Mr. Pitts has earned industry certifications in privacy (CIPP/G), technology (ITIL), and security (Auditing (GSNA), cloud computing (CCSP), information systems security (CISSP), and management (Information Systems Security Management Professional (ISSMP)). Mr. Pitts is an experienced public speaker and board-level consultant. Mr. Pitts is currently serving his second three-year term on the appeals board for the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) (2018-2020, 2021-2023).
Mr. Pitts is a member of the IAPP, ISC2, ISACA, and SANS. His Bachelor’s degree is from Asbury University and his Master of Information Systems is from the University of Phoenix. He has studied graduate-level business courses (strategy, management) through the Sloane School of Management via MIT’s OpenCourseware. He is currently enrolled in the University of Maryland's Doctorate of Business Management program focusing on non-financial risk at the board level.
