About the IAPP

Tamás Bereczki Dr, CISM, CRISC, CIPP/E

Tamás is a lawyer specialized in data protection, cyberlaw, information security, IT and technology matters. He obtained his degree in Computer Science and Engineering in 2011 beside his on-going legal professional carrier. He gained his unique data protection, privacy and information security professional experience by working in various information security and privacy roles in the financial sector, as an advisor at a Big4 company and as an attorney-at-law specialized in data protection, cyberlaw, and telecommunications at a truly global law firm. Currently he is the co-head of the technology and digital practice at Provaris.

Tamás has extensive experience in technology matters, information security and privacy management, risk management, data protection impact assessments, information security risk assessments, implementing and auditing ISO 27001 management systems, privacy frameworks, incident and cybersecurity management, third party risk management, outsourcing and cloud service risk management, mainly in various regulated sectors such as banking or pharma. He advised technology and IT aspects of several legal matters and frequently conducted IT audits and risk assessments. Tamás usually advise clients in the pharmaceutical, air transportation and automotive sectors in data protection, privacy management, information security management and digitalization related matters.

He is an associate editor of the data protection weblog DataPrivacy.hu since 2010 and regularly publishes articles in various data protection and cybersecurity related topics both in the English and in the Hungarian languages. Tamás is an ISACA member since 2013 and an International Privacy Professionals [IAPP] member since 2018.
