About the IAPP

Syed Shah has over eighteen years of Information security, data privacy and compliance experience in financial services. 

Syed is currently a Information Risk, Privacy and Security advisor at Aegon where he supports internal as well as external customers in the implementation of relevant data protection and security requirements. 

Prior to joining Aegon, Syed shah was the Global Head of Information Security & DPO at CPP Group and Head of Information Security & DPO at Claims Consortium Group. 

Syed Shah has a M.B.A (Finance), Masters in Computer Sciences and MS in Computer Security & Audit. He is a Certified Information Privacy Professional - Europe (CIPP/E), Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), a Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT), a Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer (CDPSE) and is recognised as a leader in Privacy field with his fellow of Information Privacy ( FIP). 

In addition to Privacy certifications, Syed also holds industry recognised security certifications like CISA, CISM, CISMP, C|EH, C|HFI, CCSK, CCAK, AWS Security Specialist and Azure Security Engineer.
