About the IAPP

Pedro is an attorney-at-law admitted to the Bar in Portugal, and currently serves as a Manager in the Digital Regulation - NewLaw division of PwC in Madrid. 

At PwC, Pedro advises EU-based and international clients on data protection and information technology law matters across a spectrum of industries, including TMT, retail, healthcare, and financial services. Prior to this role, he acted as in-house legal and data protection counsel for leading companies in the tech and hospitality sectors. Pedro also worked for 7+ years in top tier law firms, where he specialized in data protection and IP/IT law and gained experience managing multi-jurisdictional engagements.  

During his career, and while been based in Lisbon, Madrid, Barcelona and Paris, Pedro developed a working knowledge of some of the main privacy and data protection laws across the globe (GDPR/EU Directives, Brazilian LGPD, CCPA, as well as several African legal frameworks).  

Pedro has been recognized as “Young and Unstoppable” by Iberian Lawyer and was a member of winning team of the “In-house Team of the Year – Travel & Tourism” category of the 2021 edition of the Gold Awards by Inhousecommunity. 

From a more academic perspective, Pedro has been a visiting lecturer at symposiums and universities - notably, ISDE and IE Business School - and author of several articles in data protection, intellectual property and LegalTech topics.
