Gicel Tomimbang is an attorney with the Data Privacy, Cybersecurity and Digital Assets practice group at Squire Patton Boggs. Prior to joining private practice, Gicel served as a Deputy Attorney General in the California Department of Justice, Office of the Attorney General, where her practice was focused on privacy, cybersecurity, and competition investigations and enforcement in the healthcare industry. She also served as an investigator with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office for Civil Rights, conducting HIPAA privacy and cybersecurity, and civil rights investigations. Gicel first joined the IAPP as a student member while working towards her law degree and privacy law certificate at Santa Clara University School of Law. She has continued to contribute to the advancement of IAPP initiatives over the years, first as a Young Privacy Professional, and then as a KnowledgeNet Chapter Chair. Gicel is excited to continue contributing to the privacy community as a Member of the Privacy Section Advisory Board.
