About the IAPP

Ryan Kelly’s passion for data and data privacy combined with his knowledge of information lifecycle management are central to his enthusiasm for his daily activities. Ryan leads the Information Management Department at Marine Atlantic, a federal Crown Corporation responsible for ferry services between the Island of Newfoundland and Nova Scotia. With more than 15 years of experience in public sector information management, digital transformation, and privacy, his knowledge spans areas such as strategic planning, program governance, business process digitization, and Access to Information.

Prior to joining his current organization in 2016, Ryan held Information Management leadership roles within the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador for the Department of Transportation and Works, the Department of Justice, and The Office of the Chief Information Officer. Ryan is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/C).
