About the IAPP

Armando Becerra (@SamuraiMachete) is a telematics engineer and master’s in law of ICT. He is certified as a Privacy Technologist by the IAPP and holds other credentials in the cybersecurity field.

He was Director of Personal Data Security at the data protection authority in Mexico, (the National Institute of Transparency, Access to Information and Protection of Personal Data), an institution where he worked for 7 years. Currently, he is responsible for Information and Data Security in the financial sector.

Armando is also professor in multiple master’s degree programs, teaching about personal data security and cybersecurity.
