About the IAPP

Daniel Felz is a senior associate in Alston & Bird’s Privacy, Cyber, and Data Strategy group. He advises leading brands across industries on all aspects of US and international privacy, security, and technology issues. A former litigator, Daniel’s practice includes counseling, project leadership, incident response, deal diligence and negotiations, to defense in litigation and regulatory enforcement. He is based in Alston & Bird’s Atlanta office and (prior to COVID) regularly practiced out of Alston’s Brussels, Belgium office as well.  

Fluent in German, Daniel previously lectured at the School of Law & Economics of the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz, Germany. While there, he also obtained his doctorate in law. An area of unique expertise is U.S. and German foreign-intelligence surveillance law, on which Daniel has presented at length in Germany.
