Missi Hart-Kothari is the Privacy Officer for Cardinal Health’s Pharmaceutical Distribution Marketing and Customer Solutions Business. She manages and advises on privacy and data protection matters related to HIPAA.  Additionally, she is responsible for development, implementation and management of data privacy policies and programs, including the HIPAA Awareness Training Program. Hart-Kothari contributes to corporate level efforts aimed at privacy and data protection as a member of Cardinal Health’s Private Data Program Committee. She has spoken locally on privacy and data governance topics.

Prior to joining Cardinal Health, Hart-Kothari led the Compliance Program for NIH’s The Cancer Genome Atlas Biospecimen Core Resource at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and also served as a member of the Institutional Review Board (IRB).  As a member of the Nationwide Children’s Hospital IRB, she reviewed proposed research that involved human participants and also contributed to organizational level policies and procedures which guided the ethical conduct of biomedical and behavioral research involving humans. Hart-Kothari has been an adjunct faculty member in the Biological and Physical Sciences department at Columbus State Community College since 2007. She also taught Forensic Science courses at Central Ohio Technical College. Hart-Kothari received her JD from Capital University Law School, MS in Forensic Science from Marshall University and BA from Tusculum College.
