About the IAPP

Jennifer Couture is the Director, Head of the Privacy Risk and Compliance Office for Royal Philips.  In this role, she is responsible for the management of Privacy Risk and Compliance through the network of Philips Privacy Officers who report to the Philips Global Privacy Office.  Prior to her role as Director, Ms. Couture served as North American Privacy and Commercial Counsel for Philips Electronics North America Corporation and as the Privacy Officer in Philips Healthcare, focusing on global privacy laws that impact the production and delivery of medical devices. 



Prior to joining Philips in 2011, Ms. Couture served as a Director of Privacy Risk and a member of the contracts group Retirement division at Fidelity Investments.   She has also worked in the Legal Department at Elliot Health Systems in Manchester, NH, USA, developing and implementing their HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules, as well as a clinical project assistant at a biotech company.



Ms. Couture is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and Suffolk University Law School.  She is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals and is a Certified International Privacy Professional.  She and her husband have two children and a West Highland White Terrier.
