Lothar Determann practices international data privacy law at Baker McKenzie, Palo Alto, admitted to practice in California and Germany. He has been teaching Data Privacy, E-Commerce and Computer Law at Freie Universität Berlin (since 1994) and University of California, Berkeley School of Law (since 2004), and authored more than 150 articles and 5 books, including Determann’s Field Guide to Data Privacy Law (4th Edition, 2020, also available in Chinese, German, Hungarian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Turkish versions) and California Privacy Law - Practical Guide and Commentary (4th Ed. forthcoming in 2020, published by the IAPP).
