About the IAPP

Carlos Chalico, LI, CISA, CISSP, CISM, CGEIT, CRISC, PbDA, ISO27001LA

Carlos Chalico has been focused for over 20 years on helping organizations effectively face their challenges on cybersecurity, privacy, IT Risk and IT governance matters. He started his career with Ernst & Young (EY) in 1996 in Mexico City where he became in 2006 the partner in charge of cybersecurity and privacy services for Mexico and Central America. He made a pause in 2012 to move to Canada and joined NYMITY in Toronto for a couple of years. Back in early 2018 Carlos rejoined EY, now the Toronto office, to lead the delivery of cybersecurity and privacy services for the private sector (PCS). His experience includes assisting clients in Canada, Mexico, Europe, Asia and Latin-America.

During his career, Carlos has had the chance to interact with many privacy practitioners including think-tanks and regulators from around the world. In addition to helping EY build a better working world Carlos also teaches at the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies and volunteers for the ISACA Toronto Chapter.

Carlos has published and presented in different platforms and forums. He has also been editorial counselor for different magazines.
