Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Chair

Karen Painter Randall is the chair of Connell Foley's Cybersecurity, Data Privacy, and Incident Response Group, where she is responsible for overseeing the firm's 24/7 Breach Response Team. She is a national thought leader with extensive experience advising on cybersecurity, privacy laws, regulations, and incident response. She provides guidance on risk management, policymaking and governance issues related to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning tools, particularly with the emergence of generative AI, such as ChatGPT and Deepfakes. Karen counsels her clients from a broad range of industries on issues that intersect with cyber-related risks, including insurance, litigation, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and many others. Karen has received significant recognition for her work, having been appointed three times by the President to the ABA's Cybersecurity Legal Task Force and named the Private Sector Liaison for the Task Force. Most recently, the New Jersey State Bar Association appointed Karen to their new Artificial Intelligence Task Force.
