About the IAPP

Karen serves as the Chief Privacy Officer for the iconic denim brand Levi’s® and LS&Co. subsidiaries, Beyond Yoga and Dockers®. Prior to LS&Co., Karen was Managing Privacy Counsel at Intel, CPO at LifeLock and General Counsel at ID Analytics.  

Karen has built and matured data privacy compliance programs in each of her roles but has also led legal work across a variety of other disciplines including cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, IOT, regulatory compliance, data analytics, intellectual property, employment/labor law, admiralty and maritime law, commercial transactional work and Government contracting and compliance. The Privacy team at LS&Co. has also taken on the legal oversight of the organization’s adoption and use of Artificial Intelligence.

Karen is enthusiastic about using creative training and communication strategies to demonstrate the value of data protection to the business and holding her team and program accountable to continuous improvement and growth.

Karen holds her Europe and U.S. Privacy Professional certifications from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and is an active participant in the privacy working groups at the Retail Industry Leaders Association, the National Retail Federation, and a number of industry privacy working groups. She received her J.D. with Honors from the University of San Francisco School of Law, her B.A. with Honors (Phi Beta Kappa) from the University of California at Berkeley, and, as an undergraduate, studied art in London with the American Institute of Foreign Study.
