With nearly twenty years of legal experience, Karen’s career has focused on providing her technology clients with business-oriented legal guidance on e-commerce, data privacy, cyber security and compliance. At Intel, Karen provides legal support and guidance to the Internet of Things business group.



Prior to joining Intel, Karen served in multiple leadership roles including Chief Privacy Officer at LifeLock, Inc., General Counsel at ID Analytics, LLC and Associate General Counsel at American President Lines (APL Limited). During her tenure at LifeLock and while at ID Analytics, Karen was responsible for data privacy, cybersecurity, records and information management, regulatory compliance, intellectual property and infrastructure technology with critical focus on incident response management and preparedness.  While at APL, Karen developed expertise in Government Contract compliance and spent several years training staff in countries throughout the Middle East, Asia, and Europe.



Karen is a Certified International Privacy Professional and received her her J.D. with Honors from the University of San Francisco School of Law. Prior to law school she obtained her B.A. with Honors (Phi Beta Kappa) from the University of California at Berkeley and studied abroad with the American Institute of Foreign Study. She enjoys speaking on cybersecurity and privacy topics across the United States. In her spare time, Karen volunteers with various cancer research and animal welfare organizations.  She enjoys dressage, photography, cooking and spending time with her husband, twin sons and rescued greyhounds, Lily and Luna.
