About the IAPP

Allen is a career compliance officer with over two decades of regulatory experience in Hong Kong, having served first as a Senior Investigator with the Independent Commission Against Corruption, and next as a Chief Personal Data Officer with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data. Currently, he is a Senior Legal Counsel with the Legal Affairs Department of Huawei, the world's No.1 telecom equipment provider.

 

Allen holds IAPP certifications of CIPM, CIPT, CIPP/A & FIP and acts as Co-chair of IAPP Shenzhen Chapter. He also holds two bachelor’s degrees, two master’s degrees and the following pro-bono positions / memberships: Member of the Institute of Public Accountants, Australia; Fellow Member of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants (CMA), Australia; Chairman of the Committee of Legal Compliance, CMA Hong Kong Branch.Certified Fraud Examiner of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), United States; Director of ACFE Hong Kong Chapter (Chapter President in 2012, 2013 and 2014).
