Paula Vargas, CIPM

Paula Vargas is a lawyer, graduated at University of Córdoba, Argentina. She earned her Masters in Law (LLM) at Berkeley School of Law, University of California and also a Masters Degree on Environmental Law at University of Buenos Aires, besides other post graduate degrees.
Paula currently works as Privacy Policy Director for Latin America and Canada, at Meta.
Paula is a founder and member of the steering committee of the Digital and Data Governance Series at the Council of the Americas. She is the Chair of the Data Governance Working Group at the Internet Latin America Association (ALAI). She is also a member of several networks of lawyers, where she usually advices on privacy and AI regulatory issues.
She has an extensive academic career, being a lecturer on many universities across the region. She is currently a member of the Board at the Center of Internet and Society (CETYS), Universidad de San Andrés, Argentina
Paula has been an IAPP KnowledgeNet Argentina Chapter Chair several times.
