Daniel Esquibel, CIPP/E, CIPP/G, CIPM, CIPT, FIP

Daniel is a Data Protection Professional and has worked as a compliance officer and a technical auditor. He is currently the HIPAA Privacy and Security Officer at the Colorado Department of Human Services. Prior to joining CDHS, he was the Privacy Officer for Colorado Children’s Hospital in the Information Security Department. He specializes in data, privacy/security and law and its impact on minors, minorities and marginalized communities. He has presented and developed tools in this area. He is a member of the GIAC Advisory Board and several state technology/data boards. He is an IAPP Fellow of Information Privacy and received honor status on his GIAC Information Security Fundamental Certification (GISF). He holds other privacy, information security, and technology certifications, including CIPP/E, CIPP/G, CIPT, CIPM, Certified HIPAA Professional, Certified Security Compliance Specialist, and ITIL Foundation Certification.
Daniel holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Engineering from Stanford University and a law degree from the University of Denver.
