Alan Thomaz is a visiting professor, founding partner of CT | Campos Thomaz Advogados, and CEO of ATech Privacy Center, an educational center. Alan has over twelve years of experience in a 1st tier Big Law, where he advised high-profile national and international organizations on technology and digital services, privacy and data protection, IP, and venture capital, both in transactional and litigation issues. In 2020, he founded CT | Campos Thomaz Advogados, a boutique law firm dedicated to digital law, technology, privacy, and data protection. Alan holds an LLB (Bachelor of Laws) from Mackenzie Presbyterian University, post-graduated diploma (PGDip) in intellectual property and new business from Getúlio Vargas College (FGV), master's degree in business law also from FGV, master's degree (LLM) in Law & Technology from Tilburg University (in course) and was recently admitted to study the LLM in Law, Science & Technology from Stanford Law School in 2022. Alan is the Brazilian KN chair of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), and Official Training Partner (OTP), CIPP/E, CIPM, and Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP) by IAPP. Author of many books and articles on technology, privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity, Alan actively participated in the discussions of the recently enacted Brazil's LGPD.
