About the IAPP

Susanne Dehmel has been a Managing Director of Bitkom since October 2014, where she is managing the business unit Law & Security.

Since December 2022, she has been involved in the implementation of the Digital Strategy as a 

member of the Digital Strategy Germany Advisory Board of the Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport. She is currently involved in the German Strategy Forum for Standardisation, the Board of Directors of Gaia-X AISBL and the Data Privacy Advisory Board of Deutsche Telekom AG.

Before she took over the area of Data Protection and Consumer Law at Bitkom in 2010, she was 

responsible for Copyright Law and Intellectual Property Issues from 2002-2009. An important part of her work is the promotion of trust and security in the digital world.
