Deputy Commissioner

oline Twiss joined the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner in 2014 and is the Deputy Commissioner and Deputy Registrar for the Office of the Registrar of Lobbyists. She has a long-standing interest in practical solutions to issues that arise where law and policy intersect. She holds both civil law and common law degrees from McGill University and a Master’s in Environmental Studies from York University. Deputy Commissioner Twiss has also worked on privacy and digital issues at the House of Commons of Canada, completed her law articles at the Samuelson-Glusho Canadian Internet Policy and Public Interest Clinic, was called to the bar in Ontario in 2011 and has since transferred to be a member of the bar in British Columbia. She is a Fellow of Information Privacy with the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), with certifications in Canada (CIPP/C), Europe (CIPP/E), and in privacy program management (CIPM).
