Senior Fellow, Future of Privacy Forum; Group General Counsel Link and OpenData

Knut Mager is a Senior Fellow with the Future of Privacy Forum and the Group General Counsel Link and OpenData of Veeva Systems. 



Knut has a long-standing career as a lawyer and strategist in industry. Before joining Veeva Systems in 2023, he held the role of Novartis´ Head Global Data Privacy since May 1, 2016. 



His previous roles include inter alia Novartis Head Group Legal Country Organization, Novartis Head Commercial Legal and General Counsel of the Novartis´ Sandoz Division.



Before joining Novartis in 2003, Knut worked with Schering (now Bayer) in the roles of Head of Corporate Strategy, Head of Patents and Legal Counsel. 



Throughout his career Knut contributed to policy discussion in the area of tax law, IP, Anti-bribery and Privacy. He was the Chair of the Data Protection Working Group of the European Federation of Pharmaceuticals Industries and Associations (EFPIA) 2017 - 2019 and represented the research based Pharmaceutical industry in the European Commission's multi-stakeholder expert group to support the application of GDPR.
