About the IAPP

Doron Goldstein is the Americas head of the Data Innovation, Privacy and Cybersecurity practice at Withersworldwide and a partner on the US Corporate team, based in New York.

Doron assists clients – from start-ups to multinationals – to address and overcome complex and sometimes frightening situations involving privacy, data security and information technology. A former software developer and network administrator, Doron was named a “Cybersecurity Trailblazer” by the National Law Journal, "Thought Leader" in Data/Information Technology by Who's Who Legal, and a "Client Service All-Star" by BTI Consulting.

Doron's IT background allows him to thoroughly understand his clients’ operations, and to evaluate the risks they face. The combination of his business experience, technical understanding and legal knowledge allows him to provide the most informed, cogent and practical advice to clients. His work spans a variety of industries, with a concentration in online services, hospitality, fashion and retail, consumer products, and financial services. He works closely with his clients' legal and technology teams on complex data protection compliance programs, data management, cloud and software-as-a-service (SaaS) issues, and outsourcing arrangements. In the unfortunate event of a security incident or data breach, Doron brings to the table extensive experience in working with security specialists and forensic experts to address and mitigate the incident, determine the likely source of the incident, address legal and compliance notification and other obligations, and handle law enforcement, regulatory and governmental investigations.
