William Hoffman is a recognized subject matter expert in the field of IT security and privacy concerns. With over 20 years of operational and managerial experience, his work has included network security, privacy, communications/cryptography, command and control systems, systems engineering and the acquisition and deployment of joint military C2 and Homeland Security systems. Hoffman has worked with a diverse list of clients, passing on his expertise creating processes and procedures to streamline inefficient security and privacy programs. He has performed duties as a program manager for government/military programs, privacy programs and, previously supported Department of State/United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Privacy Office as the senior privacy professional on-site at USAID headquarters. He most recently co-authored the privacy policy for USAID.

 

Hoffman has provided executive consulting and briefing services to flag-level military officers as well as senior government personnel. His education, experience and operational and fielding of such systems are invaluable to clients attempting to meet their needs in the security profession. This has led to Hoffman sitting on numerous technology and systems design boards as a non-voting member assisting the government with technology insertion advice and counsel.

 

Hoffman is a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He received his MS in security management in Bellevue, Nebraska, specializing in homeland and cyber security, emergency management and critical asset protection. He received a BS in business management from the University of Maryland.
