Chief Privacy Officer

Dina Maxwell is Chief Privacy Officer at PwC Canada, where she manages the firm’s internal privacy and data protection program. She advises on all aspects of data, including privacy, information management, data strategy, innovation, analytics, tech, data governance and compliance. Prior to joining PwC Canada’s Office of the General Counsel, Dina worked for several years in private practice where she managed a hybrid litigation and privacy practice.

Dina is a Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP), a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), and a Certified Information Privacy Professional in both Canada (CIPP/C), and the United States (CIPP/US), as designated by the International Association of Privacy Professionals. Dina received her J.D. from the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Law in 2009 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2010. Dina received a Bachelor of Arts in English & American Literature and Language with a minor in French from Harvard University in 2006.

Dina is actively involved in equity and diversity initiatives, and regularly advises on the collection of race-based data in the workplace. Dina is a frequent lecturer, presenter, speaker and author on privacy, data governance, and big data topics. In her spare time, she is passionate about health and wellness, nutrition, writing, and travelling.
