CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT and ISEB qualified, Richie has worked in Data Privacy for around 15 years, witnessing a marked revolution in the industry during his time. His data privacy career started at the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) in the UK in 2006, where he managed the Legal & Compliance team where he was given a deep exposure to the advertising and marketing industry in the UK, as well the self-regulatory system, making key contacts within government bodies. Richie joined Deloitte in 2012 where he later spent 5 years advising on and implementing data privacy programmes at a range of organisations, but mostly large multinationals. He then made the move back to industry in 2017 when he joined IKEA Group as Chief Privacy Officer and has been there since, running their data privacy programme, which first began with markets affected by GDPR, then later rolling out to non-EU markets. He is now leading the Data Ethics programme at IKEA.
