About the IAPP

Margaret Corcoran is the Data Protection and Privacy Specialist for Rewind. The Rewind platform enables companies to back up, restore and copy the critical data that drives their businesses. Margaret is responsible for developing, advancing and executing Rewind’s privacy governance framework, while nurturing the ongoing growth of Rewind’s privacy-centric culture.

Her background in privacy includes experience in education, healthcare, and IT and she has navigated multiple regulations and compliance frameworks. Margaret holds a bachelor’s degree in science, a Master’s degree in Cybersecurity Policy and Risk Management as well as certifications in Information Access and Protection of Privacy, Risk Management and multiple IAPP certifications.

Margaret believes that a solid understanding of privacy principles is crucial in privacy, but it also requires continuous learning, active advocacy, proactive risk management, unwavering compliance and a steadfast commitment to accountability. Achieving the CIPP/C certification is the first step to embarking on a successful privacy career.
