Kate Bower
Dr Kate Bower is a consumer data advocate, fighting for fair and safe AI and broad privacy protections for Australian consumers. She founded the consumer data team at CHOICE, Australia’s largest advocacy organisation, and led advocacy and research on privacy reform, facial recognition technology, AI regulation and more. She spent six months as the first HTI Fellow at UTS Human Technology Institute. She has a PhD from the University of Technology, Sydney and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours from the University of New South Wales. Kate is a member of the National AI Centre’s Responsible AI Think Tank and Standards Australia IT-043 AI Standards Committee.
