Beth A. Williams has served as a Member of the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board since her confirmation in February 2022. She previously served as Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Legal Policy at the United States Department of Justice from August 2017 to December 2020, where she was the primary policy advisor to the Attorney General and led the judicial nomination process for the Department. Prior to becoming Assistant Attorney General, Ms. Williams was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP. She graduated from Harvard College, and earned her law degree from Harvard Law School.
