About the IAPP

Tess deBlanc-Knowles is a Senior Policy Advisor for Artificial Intelligence at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP), where she serves as the lead for policy efforts relating to strengthening Artificial Intelligence (AI) research and development at the National AI Initiative Office. She also leads OSTP’s work focused on advancing privacy-enhancing technologies. Prior to joining the National AI Initiative Office, she served as a Director of Research and Analysis at the National Security Commission on AI, was Chief of Staff of the Atlantic Council, and spent time at U.S. Special Operations Command. She is on detail to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy from the National Science Foundation.
