About the IAPP

Robert Johnson, CSDS, CIPP/US, is the principal advocate at Privata Vox, LLC, a consultancy he founded to help data controllers and processors meet and capitalize on their emerging regulatory requirements. Mr. Johnson previously served as CEO of the International Secure Information Governance & Management Association, one of the world's largest data processor trade organizations, with over 1,800 member locations across six continents. Among the many accomplishments of his 35 years of experience in data security and regulatory compliance are testifying before the U.S. Senate and the Canadian Parliament on data security regulations and personal information protection, developing the first professional liability coverage specifically designed for the unique exposures of data processors, and architecting the world's most successful data processor regulatory compliance certification program. Mr. Johnson holds an IAPP Certified Information Privacy Professional/US accreditation and an i-SIGMA Certified Secure Destruction Specialist accreditation, and is a prolific and respected writer and speaker on data protection regulatory compliance, policy development, and data processor management.
