About the IAPP

Stephen Johnson obtained a degree in Genetics from Cambridge University. He worked in IP for Kirkland & Ellis LLP for over thirty years. Since 2013 Stephen has written, taught and consulted on IP in business and academic contexts, including working on data sharing in brain and mental health research and on public policy initiatives. Stephen is the author of The Economist Guide to Intellectual Property and has taught as a Lecturer at the Stanford Graduate School of Business since 2016.
