About the IAPP

Arijita Kakati is an independent privacy counsel based in India. She completed her Master's in law from the National University of Singapore. Since 2015, she has been advising Fortune 500 and multinational companies on data protection and information technology compliance. In 2019, she featured in Legal500 “GC Powerlist- India Teams, and was credited for her work on information technology law. She volunteers with the Indian Software Product Industry Roundtable iSPIRT- a volunteer-driven technology think tank that engages with the government and market players to build a cohesive digital eco-system in India. In her spare time, she loves playing tennis, yoga, and going out diving. She is also a certified deep-sea diver.
