Rebecca Ianno, CIPP/C joined the Competition Bureau in 2022. She currently serves as Special Advisor to the Deputy Commissioner, Digital Enforcement and Intelligence Branch.

 

Rebecca is an Ontario-licensed lawyer and former Chair of the IAPP’s Toronto KnowledgeNet Chapter. She has a passion for exploring interplays between competition, privacy, and communications law and policy in the digital economy.

 

Rebecca’s love of learning inspired her to pursue and achieve her Masters of Law (LLM) from the University of British Columbia, where she focused her studies on cyberspace, communications, and media law. She earned her law degree from the University of Leicester and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Science and Communication Studies from McMaster University.

 

Rebecca has travelled to 30+ countries, including a working holiday in Australia and semester abroad in Ireland. She enjoys spending as much time as possible with her puppy, Gnocchi.
