About the IAPP

 Robert Taboada is a Privacy Specialist at Amazon in Austin, Texas. In his current role at Amazon, he is helping build and maintain Amazon's global privacy program. In his career he has gained experienced in a wide range of projects including the design, implementation, and management of data privacy programs, data governance audits, SOC 2 readiness assessments, PCI DSS assessments, and other outsourced internal audit services. As a consultant, he served both private and public clients of all sizes in various industries, including Outdoor Recreation, Healthcare, Telecom, Oil and Gas, Banking, Higher Education, and Professional Services. 

Robert has served as both operational and advisory support for clients building programs to strengthen compliance with GDPR, CPRA, LGPD, PIPEDA, HIPAA, and other emerging laws and regulations. He also served as a lead implementation consultant in partnership with privacy, security, and governance software OneTrust.

Robert is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), is a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) as well as a Certified Information Privacy Professional - US (CIPP/US). He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Louisiana State University.
