About the IAPP

Dr Saraf is a strategy leader with experience in setting-up compliance and privacy programs for multinational companies. Currently, he leads PhonePe Group's privacy compliance program as a subject matter expert and strategic partner to leaders in the organization. He is responsible for designing and maintaining the Company’s Privacy program based on the applicable regulatory landscape to enable business needs and objectives. He also contributes as a subject matter expert at the market level to Walmart’s Global Digital Citizenship team.

Previously, Dr Saraf was part of the regulatory compliance team at EY working with the Global Compliance Solution Leader. He was instrumental in developing and building the privacy compliance advisory on GDPR, CCPA, POPII, PIPEDA and LGPD and was spearheading projects across geos for large conglomerates operating in IT, Manufacturing, Financial Services, Automobile and E-commerce space. As a trusted advisor, he formulated long-term strategy for clients and set-up teams, processes, policies and procedures to ensure effectiveness and sustenance of compliance and privacy programs.

A technology law enthusiast, Dr Saraf champions privacy. He holds a doctorate in law from Monash University, Australia with a specialisation in the field and is a qualified Indian attorney. He is a speaker at seminars and conferences, an expert trainer on privacy and has published in international journals. He is certified as a FIP, CIPM and CIPP/E and is also a DSCI Certified Privacy Lead Assessor along with a Privacy Management Professional certification from OneTrust.
