About the IAPP

Marco is a Deputy Chief Privacy Officer and a senior Solution Architect in IT Consulting. He has a Bachelor Degree In Computer Engineering.

He has worked more that 36 years in computer/software engineering and project manager as an IT Consultant in highly secure environments. He started to work as a Privacy Engineer 6 years ago on Customers' projects.

Since then he has added the role of Privacy Officer to his background and doing it for 100% of my time. He is acting as a Deputy to GFT CPO, acting as a local representative in 5 countries (Belgium, Canada, France, UK and USA).

He is also responsible for the roll-out of privacy by design into GFT Methodology and the leader of GFT's worldwide Privacy Engineer community.

He has earned IAPP CIPP/E, CIPP/C, CIPT and FIP certifications, and previously also has ITIL, IASA and Six Lean Sigma Certifications.
