About the IAPP

 Jean Pierre Nzabahimana is the Manager of IT & Systems Compliance at the Rwanda Social Security Board (RSSB), where he leads efforts to ensure compliance with global data protection and cybersecurity standards. In this role, he develops and enforces IT governance frameworks, oversees privacy and compliance programs, and advises on cybersecurity risk management.

Jean Pierre began his career in cybersecurity and privacy after earning a master’s degree in computer engineering from the Kharkiv Aviation Institute in Ukraine. He has since become a recognized expert in the field, holding certifications including CIPP/E, CIPM, FIP, CISSP, and ISO 27001 Lead Implementer.

As a passionate advocate for privacy and security, Jean Pierre has contributed to the field through thought leadership and public speaking. He has authored a publication in IEEE on privacy and security and has spoken at events such as the Africa Cyber Defense Forum, where he shared insights on emerging trends in data protection and cybersecurity.

Jean Pierre is also committed to mentorship and advancing diversity in the cybersecurity and privacy professions.
