Director

Mette Birkedal Bruun is professor of church history and director of the Centre for Privacy Studies at the University of Copenhagen. Her research focuses on religiously motivated withdrawal from the world, especially in Christian monasticism. Mette is the founding editor of Privacy Studies Journal and member of the Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters as well as the Danish Council for Research and Innovation Policy. She is adamant that we need to approach privacy in a conscious combination of sectors and in ways that are attuned to cultural differences. Taking a historical perspective is one way of honing this attunement.
