Director, Public Policy and Chief Privacy Officer

As Director of Public Policy and Chief Privacy Officer for the Canadian Marketing Association (CMA), Fiona stewards the association’s public policy activities - including in the critical areas of privacy and data protection, anti-spam, competition, and AI regulation.

Prior to the CMA, Fiona led government relations for Futurpreneur Canada, a national organization supporting the launch and growth of thousands of Canadian start-ups. Before her tenure in government relations, she worked in experiential marketing and spent time in government as a political staffer in Alberta and with the UK Department of Business Innovation and Skills.

As the past Canadian Sherpa for the G20 Young Entrepreneurs Alliance (G20 YEA) and member of several B20 Taskforces, Fiona has long been passionate about engaging businesses in the policy and regulatory issues that affect them. She holds a Masters of Public Policy degree from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor of Management degree from Dalhousie University.
