About the IAPP

Jo-Anne has extensive experience in data privacy, digital projects, and strategic commercial legal advice. Currently acting as Senior Legal Counsel at GSK Plc, Jo-Anne advises various commercial teams on complex legal matters, focusing on data protection, digital transformation and innovative healthcare solutions. In addition, Jo-Anne advises on the introduction of various digital tools to improve efficiency and drive performance within a robust AI governance and risk management framework, aligned to global AI and data privacy laws

Prior to joining GSK, Jo-Anne was a global lawyer at Intertek Group Plc, where she led the adoption of the GDPR and subsequent other international data laws, into the legislative framework, which included advising on the implementation of  global data privacy policies and processes. For example, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Jo-Anne is passionate about ensuring healthcare is accessible to all and protecting patients’ data in a safe and responsible way.
