About the IAPP

Ashwini Natesan is a legal consultant and researcher specializing in technology, media and communications law. Currently based in Sri Lanka, she consults on technology law issues with a leading law firm. She is also a research fellow at LIRNEasia, a think-tank, where her focus areas have been data protection, AI policy, regulation of social media, etc. Independently, Natesan has also worked on several access to information and open-data research projects. She was previously a part of the law reform committee on privacy and media law in Sri Lanka. She is an Internet Law and Policy Foundry Fellow (2022-24).
